Adrienne Braswell’s newest cd
GREAT BIG YELLOW SUNFLOWER
Is a collection of songs that speak and rock
To the common ground of love
A common ground found in the most
surprising and diverse settings
With a voice and style that will lure you
Through a soulful tour of songs
All wrapped in rare and stunning melodies
"Some of these songs are Hippie/Cowgirl ballads that drive steadily through West Texas
Keeping time with trains and trucks and Subarus
Some are love songs that lightly groove and hip-swing
To a Motownish uptempo
Some songs are soft piano offerings in honor of boys and their struggle to become men
In a world where a man’s role is confusing and ever-changing
Some songs are fun and pop-jazzy speaking to the determined spirit of feminine strength through all ages – young and old
Some songs strum and drum-beat to the preservation of the wild native places in the world and in ourselves
And finally a song to playfully entertain you by the cabaret diva as she sings to the contradictions of falling in and out of love - and back in again!"
"Coffee Houses to Symphony Concert Halls to the Copa Cabana in New York City! And I'm ready to keep on going! Where will the muse take me next? Every chance I get to sing and benefit others through the gift of music and artful living is an honor and privilege".
